Christmas has always been a special time for Holly. But when once again she is too unwell to go out with the carol singers on Christmas Eve, she is disappointed. She is puzzled too, by a strange dream that has begun to come to her as she falls asleep. When her tall, mysterious aunt from the North arrives to stay, the dream begins to take a different shape, as the old stories from far-off times in history and legend times meet the new hope of Christmas, and the wonder of a very special child.
